Bypassing content filters lets you visit sites they don’t want you to see

The internet should allow everyone to freely access an infinite amount of data. However, many filters operate in the background, denying consumers access to internet information. For instance, some countries install content filters on websites to restrict citizens from seeing them. Fortunately, there are methods to circumvent content filters and access websites that they do not want you to view. Continue reading to learn three methods to bypass the filters:

VPNs are capable of concealing your IP address and changing your current location.

Through the use of a VPN, your computer may establish an encrypted connection to a network over the internet. Your computer’s traffic may be routed via a VPN, masking your IP address. Depending on the VPN you use, you may be able to alter your computer’s apparent location and therefore get access to geo-restricted content.

DNS-based filter-evasion services are ideal for unblocking geo-restricted websites.

If you want to access websites that are geographically limited, such as BBC iPlayer and Netflix, your best option is to utilize a DNS-based solution. By changing your DNS server address to that of the service, the service will take care of the hard work for you, allowing you to connect to any site and view all accessible information. However, the majority of DNS providers demand an access fee, which may be discouraging to some customers.

Proxies allow you to circumvent workplace content filtering.

While proxies are not as handy as DNS services and do not encrypt data the way a VPN does, they may provide simple access to prohibited sites at work without requiring you to make any modifications to your work computer’s settings. Additionally, you may choose which websites to use proxies for, so they are not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Always use caution if you opt to bypass internet filtering. Bear in mind that the individuals who implemented the content filters are unlikely to be happy if they discover that you have evaded their painstakingly placed filters.
